The current Atelier work is centred on merino. That makes sense for us, because merino has a particular balance: clean enough to look sharp, soft enough to wear directly, and fine enough to layer without bulk. When the fit is right, a merino long sleeve can do more than a T-shirt and less than a sweater, which is exactly why it becomes useful.
Atelier sits close to our wider idea of knitwear, but it is more precise than that category suggests. The line is about making the quiet pieces we keep looking for in the Arnhem store: garments with a clear hand, a good neckline, a colour that earns its place, and a shape that works before anyone asks what brand it is.
